VISIT BASILICA OF SAINT ANTHONY OF PADUA / BASILICA DI SANT'ANTONIO DI PADOVA

Saint Anthony's Basilica also known as SANTO (the saint) is the most important church in Padova. It was built  in the 1200's after the death of St. Anthony. The basilica's architecture is a mix of romanesque and byzantine styles with its exterior featuring a number of domes. 

This chapel  is very beautiful and peaceful definitely worth a view. But you cannot allowed to take any picture inside of the basilica.  Inside you will find the tomb of Saint Anthony and it is said if you touch the tomb you will have a good luck or be healed. You can see also hundreds of letters and pictures surrounding the tomb brought by the faithful parishoners who ask of San Antonio's help. You will find also the magnificient  Saint's Altar, Sculptured panels of the miracles of St. Anthony and chapel of St. James.


How to get there:

From the train station you can get "tram" then get off at "SANTO's stop, southbound Guizza  direction.

By bus you can get lines number 3, 12, 18, and 16..

By car : Follow the signs 'Padua Center' and then Prato della Valle, where parking places are available, set the following address with a satellite navigation system: Via Cavalleria 1, Padua access to Rabin Parking Square)

From Marco Polo VENICE AIRPORT

Take the bus from ‘FSBusitalia’ stop just outside the airport. Tickets are available at the FSBusitalia booth in the Arrivals Hall from 8.00am to 12midnight.

Tickets can also be bought onboard with a surcharge. The FSBusitalia’s final stop is at Padua’s Railway Station.
